Introduction
My name is Asif Iqbal. I come from Lahore, Pakistan. Lahore is the capital of Punjab province and is located close to the western border of India.
I earned my undergradute degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan in 1999. In June 2003, I completed my MS from Systems Engineerring Department with specialization in Automation and Control from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. My thesis work comprised of the implementation of a teleoperation system using haptics and stereo vision on local area networks.
From December 2003 to June 2007, I carried out doctoral research at IPP Multi Sensorics, Center for Sensor Systems (ZESS), University of Siegen, Germany. In June 2007, I earned my PhD with magna cum laude. The title of my PhD dissertation is Stabilization Of Delayed Teleoperation Systems Using Time Domain Passivity Control. Since July 2007, I am working with a metrology organization in Switzerland. I mostly work on embedded firmware and real-time systems in metrological machines and instruments.
